Challenge:
Goodwill’s Point-of-Sale process lacked a centralized accounting system which resulted in the manual tracking of receipts and cash flow for 19 separate locations. Therefore, difficulty arose when the staff would need to refer back to a previous transaction, refund, or reconciled draw. They soon realized that they would need to update their transaction processing in order to provide their staff and customers with accurate sales information. Management also wanted precise reporting options for each of the 19 locations.

Final Implemented Solution:
The LLB Group IT Services Division selected the Citrix platform in conjunction with Windows Terminal Services to provide a stable mechanism for printing transactions. In order for stores to access and use POS, system connectivity to Sage MAS 200 was critical. All systems connect out to the internet via Telco DSL or Comcast Cable to enable connectivity to the Citrix MetaFrame XP server in Maple Shade. Citrix provides Sage MAS 200 to each of the stores and manages data flow between servers. Citrix MetaFrame XP and terminal services provide increased stability for terminal printers within the POS system. With Citrix MetaFrame XP in place, this provides a stable environment for all printers, and proper communication with the terminal server at Maple Shade for all 19 retail stores.
